Exercise anytime, anywhere with the Daily Workouts app

These days, with many work and family priorities, it’s often tough to find time to hit the gym.  Luckily, the Daily Workouts app makes it easy for you to fit a 10, 20, or 30-minute full-body workout into your day—no gym required.  You can do these exercises at home, work, or on the go. And if you only have a few minutes for a workout, this app also provides shorter, targeted workouts for the abs, arms, butt, cardio, and legs that you can do in 5, 8, or 10 minutes.

How it works
Daily Workouts is available for iPhoneand Androidphones. There is a free version of the app and a paid version for $3.99.  The paid version has more workout options, allows you to customize your workouts, and is ad-free.

To get started, download and then launch the app. Then, select which type of workout you would like to do: ab, arm, butt, cardio, leg, or full body.  After that, pick out your preferred workout time, ranging from 5 minutes to 30 minutes.  Click the “play” icon to get started.  Voice commands will let you know when to start your exercise.  You can also watch an instructional video and read bulleted instructions that give you clear guidance on how to do each exercise.

Pros: The app keeps the workouts interesting by switching up the exercises from the exercise database.  For example, the full body routine consists of 4 ab, 4 arm, 4 cardio, 4 butt, and 4 leg exercises selected at random.  Another cool thing about the app is that at the end of each workout, the system displays a quick summary of how many calories were burned during the workout, for the day, and the entire week.

Cons: While the app is fairly simple to use, the user interface isn’t particularly attractive.  The free version of the app has a limited number of exercise options, and many of the buttons in the app prompt you to purchase the paid version. Also, while the app tells you when to start each activity, it doesn’t provide any other voice prompts or countdowns as you are doing the exercises.

Overall consensus: If you are looking for a workout that can be done anytime and anywhere, Daily Workouts is a great resource to help you fit in some quick exercise.  Many of the arm exercises require light dumbbells, so consider purchasing a set to get the most out of the app.
