Create your own workout routines with the Fitness Builder app

Looking to switch up your workout? With over 1,000 fitness workouts and 7,000 exercise images and videos at your fingertips, you’ll never get bored with the same old routine. The Fitness Builder app allows you to build your own workouts based on your personal fitness goals and circumstances.

How it works:

Fitness Builder is free to download with free access to a fully-functional month-long trial. After that, there is a subscription fee of $6.99 per month or $59.99 per year. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices.

It’s apparent that Fitness Builder was designed by professional trainers as the instructions and transitions of the workouts flow so smoothly. There are preset workouts to choose from with different levels as well as a feature that allows the user to build custom workouts. In the builder section, an innovative filter wheel is used to select a body part or category of exercise and pair it with equipment such as a barbell or leg weights.

Once you have created your program, you are ready to burn some calories! Each screen represents an exercise that is displayed in a zoomed view. Using a finger swipe, you can navigate through all your exercises for that particular workout. Double-tapping on a workout allows you to edit the sets, reps, or weight. If you are unsure about a specific move, one tap on the image will play a video of the exercise. This application has a companion website with the same core functionality as the app, so it’s easy access whether you’re at your desk or on the go.

Pros: The Fitness Builder app makes it easy for you to create and schedule multiple workouts customized to your personal needs. If you tend to work out at home or on the go, you can create workouts that require no equipment. If you have access to a gym or have equipment in your home, you can create workouts that utilize specific equipment choices based on what you have available. Through the app, you can also listen to music, track activity, and mark your progress.

Cons: $6.99 per month can be a little steep for a fitness application; Fitness Builder is one of the more expensive exercise applications currently available. Also, the website seems to be a bit more user-friendly than the app. It can be difficult at times to navigate out of the workout screen and back to the app homepage.

Overall consensus: Fitness Builder creates opportunities to work out whenever you have some downtime. The next time you have a few minutes to spare, launch this app and take advantage of your opportunity to fit in a quick workout!
