Make your last month of summer healthy and fun

With summer starting to wind down, you may be wondering where the time went. Squeeze in a bit more summer fun with the help of these tips and healthy activity ideas.

Plan a staycation. Take the time to purposefully unwind and spend time in your home and community. Get inspired with these ideas!

Cook an exotic meal. Where is your dream destination vacation? Find a recipe from the place you’d like to travel to most and make it. Feeling extra ambitious? Prepare a three-course meal from the locale!

Get outside. Soak up as much sunshine as possible (but don’t forget your sun protection!). Whether it’s enjoying a cup of coffee on the front porch, a BBQ or picnic with friends, or camping in your backyard, take advantage of the warm weather and extra hours of light before you miss out!

Eat local. Enjoying fresh fruit and vegetables from your backyard garden or farmer’s market is one of the joys of summertime eating.

Disconnect. Even if you’re not traveling for vacation, be sure to use your vacation time–it allows you to unplug and decompress. Turn off phone notifications and take your time responding to non-crucial texts, phone calls and emails—just as you would if you were away from home.

Create a summer playlist. Select music that helps you get into vacation mode. Play it frequently to keep up the relaxing vibes.

Do nothing! And by that, we mean take time to RELAX. Spend time in a hammock or chair outside and let your mind wander while enjoying the remaining warm nights.

We hope you have a fun and safe rest of the summer!
