Health Advocate™, Inc., the nation’s leading healthcare advocacy and assistance company and a subsidiary of West Corporation, announced today that it has been named one of 2014’s Healthiest Employers in the Bay Area. The award, sponsored by the San Francisco Business Times and Humana, identifies employers in the Bay Area whose innovative wellness programs demonstrate a commitment to a healthy workforce. One of Health Advocate’s five regional offices is located in San Francisco.

The San Francisco Business Times selected companies based on a corporate assessment that was administered by the national research company Healthiest Employers. Participants were asked to respond to 75 scored questions about their wellness programs, leadership commitment and strategic planning, among other key categories. Results were then scored using a format developed by Healthiest Employers’ panel of health, academic and business professionals.
Health Advocate was specifically recognized for the robust on-site wellness program it offers employees, which includes the same features available to Health Advocate’s members, including access to a personal wellness coach coupled with comprehensive, up-to-date health and wellness information; a health risk assessment tool; weight loss programs; frequent on-site health and wellness events; and employee assistance and work/life balance support through the company’s EAP+Work/Life program.
Additionally, the office’s team of wellness coaches and fitness experts take turns leading on-site exercise breaks for their colleagues on a daily basis and frequently send updates throughout the year to raise awareness of important health topics.
Health Advocate’s Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, headquarters has also been recognized as a Healthiest Employer in the Philadelphia area by the Philadelphia Business Journal.
