Strapped for time? Fit in short workouts with Sworkit!

Even if you have the best of intentions to make it to the gym, last-minute deadlines, social events, and family duties often get in the way. Sworkit makes it possible for you to find a few minutes each day to fit in a quick workout no matter what time constraints you may have.

How it works

Once you download Sworkit, the app will prompt you to choose the type of workout that you would like to do. Options include strength training, yoga, cardio, and stretching. Once you select your workout type, the next step is to select a specific workout. For strength training, you can choose a specific region of the body that you would like to focus on. Examples include upper body, core strength, lower body, full body, and anything goes. You can also create your own customized workout by selecting specific exercises. The last step is to pick your desired workout duration ranging from five minutes to 60 minutes. If you aren’t sure about how to do a specific exercise, you can always pause your workout and click the video icon to watch a video on how to do the exercise. The app also allows you to sync your workouts with MyFitnessPal so that your daily calorie allotment is adjusted based on your Sworkit workouts.

Sworkit is available for the iPhone, iPad, Android, and Kindle. There is a free version and a pro version that costs $.99. The pro version includes extra features such as verbal cues, statistics and customizable graphs, goal setting, and a workout log that lets you track your progress in minutes and calories. It also provides additional customization options for your workouts. For example, you can save more than one customized workout and change the interval duration between exercises.

Pros: All of the exercises require no equipment and use your body weight for resistance. The app keeps your workouts fun and ever-changing by constantly switching up the exercises. The seamless integration with MyFitnessPal makes it easy to track your workouts, calories, and progress.

Cons: While there is a pretty extensive list of exercises that are available, users have mentioned that they would like more variety.

Overall consensus: Sworkit is the perfect resource for those who need a little help finding time to exercise and staying focused on their personal fitness goals. But be prepared—if you own this app, the “I don’t have time to work out” excuse won’t fly anymore!
