As part of Health Advocate’s Commit to Quit Tobacco campaign, many of our members are aiming to quit tobacco on November 20th, the national Great American Smokeout Day.
Quitting tobacco is difficult, and staying motivated is key to your success if you’re trying to kick the habit. That’s why it’s important to have one or several good reasons why you’re trying to quit. Staying focused on those reasons throughout the quit process can help remind you why becoming tobacco-free is so important to you.
We asked some of our members who are participating in the Commit to Quit Tobacco campaign why they want to quit tobacco. Here are a few of our favorite responses:
“To extend my life for me and my family.” – Henry
“The reason is simple… My new grandson!” – Melody
“There are several reasons I want to quit: Health (mine and those around me), smell (yuck), residue smoke leaves behind (yuck).” – Jori
“There are a few reasons that I want to quit. First and foremost is for my own health.” – Jennifer
“The main reason I want to quit tobacco is so I can live a longer, healthier life in order to see my daughter grow up, get married and have children.” – Anthony
