It’s that time of year again…cold and flu season. There are a number of things you can do to stay healthy and avoid these common illnesses this winter. Here are a few of our top tips to keep you healthy, and check out the links to some of our past posts that include additional helpful ideas.
- Wash Your Hands! There is almost nothing more important you can do to avoid the spread of germs than washing your hands.
- Get Your Flu Shot. If you haven’t already, now is the time to vaccinate against the flu to protect yourself and your family members.
- Avoid Others Who Are Sick. If your co-worker is coughing and sneezing, stay away! Keep your distance to avoid sharing germs.
- Know the Symptoms. Understand key signs of both cold and flu so you know how to act to get back on your feet quickly and avoid getting others sick. Also, know when to seek help.
- Don’t Touch Your Face. You likely touch thousands of surfaces each day that are covered in germs – it may be difficult, but make sure those germs don’t get into your mouth or nose by keeping your hands off your face.
- Practice Good Health Habits. These are always good ideas, but continue exercising, eating healthy and getting enough sleep to keep your immune system in tip-top shape all winter long.
Put these tips into practice to protect yourself, your loved ones and your co-workers from cold and flu this winter.
