Make the most of the rest of your summer

With summer winding down, you may be wondering where the time went. This may be especially true if COVID-19 ruined your travel plans and interrupted your usual summer festivities. However, that doesn’t mean the fun is over! Squeeze in a bit more fun this summer with the help of these tips.

Plan a staycation. Take the time to purposefully unwind and spend time in your home and community. Click here for ideas!

Cook an exotic meal. Where is your dream destination vacation? Find a recipe from the place you’d like to travel to most and make it. Feeling extra ambitious? Prepare a three-course meal from the locale!

Get outside. Soak up as much sunshine as possible (safely, of course!). Whether it’s enjoying a cup of coffee on the front porch, a virtual BBQ with friends or camping in your backyard, take advantage of the warm weather and extra hours of light before you miss out!

Eat local. Enjoying fresh fruit and vegetables from your backyard or farmer’s market is one of the joys of summertime eating. Be sure to follow local mask guidelines.

Disconnect. One of the benefits of vacation is the ability to unplug. Even though you may not be going anywhere, turn off phone notifications and take your time responding to non-crucial text, phone calls and emails—just as you would if you were away from home.

Create a summer playlist. Select music that helps you get into vacation mode. Play it frequently to keep up the relaxing vibes.

Do nothing! And by that, we mean take time to RELAX. It can be one of the hardest challenges to clear your mind, especially given the current COVID crisis. Instead, spend time in a hammock or chair outside and let your mind wander while enjoying the remaining warm nights.

Be safe, stay healthy and enjoy the rest of your summer!
